Little red millipede, probably genus Brachycybe
Alissa collected this small red millipede, possibly genus Brachycybe, in the family Andrognathidae, and order Platydesmida. They feed on fungus, and are harmless. Thanks to Dr. Michael Brewer for the ID.
The videos below are of similar millipedes collected in Columbia Ca on 13 February 2015 from a rotting digger pine log.
Casemaking clothes moth larvae
Here are some videos of casemaking clothes moth larvae. Specimens collected by Harry Proctor, 13 January 2015, Murphys California. The larvae were found to be infesting a rolled-up, red wool carpet, stored under the bed.
